We are a Bible study class for adults. We meet year-round and are comprised primarily of seniors.
Upper Room Class
Our main focus is Biblical based utilizing videos and study guides from some of these ministers: Andy Stanley, Rick Warren, Timothy Keller, Kyle Idleman, and Adam Hamilton. We view the video and then follow with discussion. We meet year-round and are a group of young at heart, maturely retired adults ranging in age from late 60s to early 90s.
Despite our name, most of us are not in choir – anyone is welcome! We are a Biblical-based group and discuss whatever book of the Bible we feel moved to study. We look at what it meant during Jesus’ time, how it relates to modern times, and what it means to us personally. Sometimes, we have very lively discussions in a loving manner. We meet year-round and have a wide range of ages and faith walks in our midst.
We focus on fellowship and reading/studying our lesson. We use the Adult Bible Studies book from the Uniform Series. We meet year-round, and our ages range from 82-95.
Our main focus is Bible scriptures relating to everyday issues such as trials, hope, poverty, prison pipeline, human trafficking, and the environment. We sometimes study books of the Bible. On Father’s and Mother’s days, we study fathers and children/mothers and children respectively. We cover a wide variety of topics and Bible trivia. Our curriculum consists mostly of articles from religious publications (such as the Upper Room), the Bible, United Methodist Women resources, newspapers, and magazines. We meet year-round, and our average age is 65.
